## When a custom app makes sense

We pick the smallest fix that works. A custom app is the right fix when one of these is true.

## How a build runs

Nothing is built until you agree with the plan.

Change requests are quoted separately, so the original price stays fixed.

- 1. **Free diagnosis**: We map the real process and check whether a simpler fix would do. If it would, we say so.
- 2. **Fixed-price proposal**: The screens, roles and rules to build, a timeline and one fixed price. Work starts after a 50% deposit.
- 3. **Build and test**: We build the app, show it to your team as it takes shape, and test it with your real work before handover.
- 4. **Handover, then an optional retainer**: Docs and training for the people who use it. An optional monthly retainer covers monitoring and small changes.

## AI features only where useful

A custom app does not need AI to be useful. We add it when it fixes a real problem.

- **Screens, roles and approvals** (No AI needed): Plain software does this best.
- **Reading documents into the app** (Uses AI): AI pulls the details from invoices or CVs, and a person checks them.
- **Search and summaries** (AI optional): Can be added later, once the app is in daily use.

### When do you build an app instead of automating?

When the work needs its own screens, roles or approvals, or when no tool you can buy fits how your team works. If an automation or a clean spreadsheet fixes the problem, we recommend that instead.
